HARRISBURG (May 13, 2008) - C. Dale McClain of Lansdale, a sole practitioner in the Haverford and Worcester law firm of C. Dale McClain Ltd., will become president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) at the conclusion of the organization's Annual Meeting June 6 in Hershey.

A member and former parliamentarian of the PBA House of Delegates, McClain served as PBA treasurer; chair of the PBA Solo and Small Firm Practice Section, the PBA Elder Law Section, the PBA Economics of Law Practice Committee, the PBA Seasoned Lawyers Project, the PBA Non-Dues Revenue Committee, the PBA Planning Committee; and as co-chair of the PBA Membership Development Committee and the PBA Quality of Life/Balance Committee. He is a PBA-elected delegate to the American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates.

He is a former president of the PBA Conference of County Bar Leaders and a former chair of the PBA Young Lawyers Section. He was a founder and first chair of the PBA General Practice (now Solo and Small Firm Practice) Section. He has received three special achievement awards from the PBA for his service to the association. He is the recipient of the ABA GP/Solo Difference Maker Award.

McClain served as president of the Montgomery Bar Association in 1990 and as president of the Montgomery Bar Foundation in 1991.

He is active in his community and has served as vice president of the board of commissioners and as treasurer and tax collector of Lower Merion Township, chairman of the Delaware Valley Regional Finance Authority, and president of the Lower Merion Federation of Civic Associations. McClain also served as president of the Men of Malvern. McClain is an Eagle Scout and a former member of the Eagle Board of Review for the Valley Forge Boy Scouts Council.

McClain is a graduate of Villanova University and the Villanova University School of Law and served as president of the Villanova Law School Alumni Association. He was a member of the Editorial Board of the Villanova Law Review and was the recipient of the Order of the Coif from Villanova Law School. He also served as president of the Villanova Student Bar Association. McClain is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a LLM degree in taxation from the Temple University School of Law. McClain was a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and served in the JAG Corps.

McClain and his wife, Carol, have five children and ten grandchildren.
